Rakkan Ramen: Authenticity at your Doorstep

Ramen, an enticing soup with thin noodles and all kinds of toppings, has delighted its consumers for decades. From Jinya Ramen to Hakata Ikkousha ramen, this iconic bowl has brought customers to their doorsteps across the nation. Now, a new shop called Rakkan Ramen has opened, and oh it does not disappoint. 

Rakkan Ramen has just made their soft opening on South Pacific Coast Highway, Redondo Beach, California. The small but chic shop has a dark, mellow vibe inside, and the quiet waiters gave us a nice seat in the back. At first, I felt doubtful, as there were barely any parties seated. When I opened the menu, I saw that they only had two selections of ramen: soy sauce and miso. I felt kind of disappointed then, as my favorite tonkotsu ramen was not available. So I ordered the Amber soy sauce ramen and some crispy chicken. 

The order was, to say the least, delicious. The chicken has just the right amount of crunch and juiciness, and the ramen had a beautiful yet not overpowering flavor. It was just the right amount of noodles as well, and I had the choice to choose extra noodles which was pretty nice. The price was not bad for the amazing dish I was given. The service there was also pretty great, as the waitress at the front always had an eye on our table and came to us at a moment’s notice when we needed it. 

The only thing I might complain about was that personally, the flavor of the ramen was a little bit light. However, I just tend to like bold ramen flavors and the broth was still very delicious anyways. 

Overall, this place sure surprised me with its flavors and amazing service. Although the place has only been open for a little bit, I am excited to continue coming to this place and experiencing that ramen again.
